What Makes a House Feel Like “Home”?
Recognizing a house is easy; it has walls, a roof, windows, and a door. But defining “home” has always been more difficult.
Sometimes home is a place, sometimes a person, and sometimes a memory that quietly comes with us wherever we go.
Throughout our lives, many of us leave homes behind. We move to new cities, new countries, and new beginnings. But some things are never truly left behind: a childhood room, a grandmother’s kitchen, the smell of rain through an open window, a balcony full of flowers, a small pond in the middle of a courtyard, or the light that used to fall on the wall every afternoon.
Perhaps that is why, even when we move away from a home, a part of us continues to search for a familiar feeling.
These little ceramic houses came from a simple question: What if home were not only a place we might one day return to? What if it could quietly travel with us?
These houses are a small reminder that home is not always defined by an address. Sometimes it lives in a memory, sometimes in a feeling, and sometimes in that quiet sense of belonging.
Small Enough to Stay With You
These houses are small enough to quietly become part of everyday life and stay with us wherever we go.
They might stay on the refrigerator door, travel on our favourite coat or bag, or hang from our keys.
They can easily move from one place to another, collecting new memories along the way and becoming a little more personal with every new place and every new story.
These little houses are made in different forms (magnets, pins, keychains, necklaces, and more) so that everyone can keep a small piece of the feeling of home close to them in their own way.
Every House Is Looking for Someone
No two houses are exactly alike. Each one has its own combination of colours, textures, windows, and small details, and it is these differences that give each one its own character.
Perhaps that is why everyone chooses their house differently. Some are drawn to colours and details that feel closer to their personality and taste. Some choose a house that reminds them of something familiar, and sometimes the choice happens simply because of a feeling.
For some, one little house on its own is enough (a small, independent place that belongs only to them). Others prefer to put several houses together and slowly build their own little neighbourhood.
And perhaps this is the beautiful part of it: among all these little and different houses, everyone can find a house or a neighbourhood that feels a little more like their own world.
On the Way
Some of these little houses continue their journey. They travel through cities, streets, and nature, appear in new places, and sometimes are left somewhere along the way to follow a new story.
